Yet another match abandoned due to rain



The second ODI India vs. Sri Lanka of CB series was abandoned due to rain. India took 267 in 50 overs. The openers Sehwag and Tendulkar gave a nice start. Tendulkar scored 16000 ODI runs in this match today. But Sachin fell to Malinga for an inside edge. Soon after Sachin, Sehwag went for a mistimed short and went out. Murali came into the attack and took two wickets, Yuvraj and Rohit Sharma. Repairing work started for the Indian team when it was in 83 for 4 wickets. Gambhir and Dhoni joined their hands to bring back Indian team for the attack. Gambhir knocked his 3rd ODI century. Gambhir was dropped when he was in 10 which proved worth for Sri Lanka. The out of form Dhoni played a nice innings in today’s match and scored an unbeaten 88. Gambhir scored an unbeaten 102. Both these men added 184 in the scoreboard which helped India to reach 267. After the first session, fortunately or unfortunately it started raining continuously and as a result match was abandoned. Both the teams are given with 2 points.
