Do you think police is really our friends?????

I recently came across this news about Tamilnadu police in a newspaper. I thought I can share this news with you.

A woman sub-inspector who was working for Chief Minister’s security was knocked down by a speeding car. This happened just half an hour before CM’s convoy. She was knocked out and she fell on her knees. But with some presence of mind, she managed to note down the registration number of the car. She immediately informed the control room before fainting. Two months after the incident, she recovered from the hospital and now she cannot speak continuously for 10 minutes and she cannot bend her knees as she fell on her knees. Although she was discharged from hospital, she was in a month leave. Even though police officials got a sign from her to register a complaint, the complaint was not registered. After she came to duty on Jan 3rd, 2008, a senior officer in police took the initiative to start the case. Only thing they have found out is the address of the car registered to a company.

What happened to her can happen to anyone in our country. A Sub Inspector of police was knocked out by a car and no complaint was registered for her until she came back to duty. If this is the state of a police, just think about the state of an individual in this country. Police made no effort to help their colleague. The shocking news in this incident is that the woman SI’s husband is also a police. In the FIR which was filed three months after the incident, the reason for delay in complaint has been mentioned as ‘delayed by complainant’.

Just one message for you, Police is not our friends. So please don’t depend on them in any case. This incident shows the carelessness of police to help their colleague. But what would have happened if the same incident has happened to somebody else?????
