India wins a nail biting match

Back to form playing from Yuvraj and slow and steady playing from Dhoni helped Indian team to win a nail biting match against Sri Lanka in 8th match of CB Series in Adelaide today. Kumar Sangakkara’s 128 didn’t help Sri Lankans for a victory.

When Sri Lankans started their play, they lost two early wickets. But captain Jayawardane and keeper Sangakkara played an excellent innings to add a 100+ score to the Sri Lankan score board. This partnership was looking dangerous for Indians. But they found a break through by taking Jayawardane’s wicket. Though Jayawardane left the ground, Sangakkara continued his knock. With his 128 (second highest ODI score for Sanagakkara), Sri Lankans reached a decent total of 238 in 50 overs.

Indian innings started off with a shock for Indians when Sachin went out for a duck. The weak batting line up (an excellent selection from BCCI) started to crash. But Indians regained their energy when the victorious partnership of Yuvraj and Dhoni started their play. Yuvraj cracked many continuous fours and looked dangerous for Sri Lankans. Yuvraj managed to take a blistering 76 before he was bowled out by an excellent Yorker from Vaas. Then Irfan Pathan who joined hands with Dhoni continued Yuvraj’s play. Dhoni gave a nice support. Pathan’s vital 31 also helped a lot for India’s victory. Indians started to bite their nails (including me) as tension started to build up due to three quick wickets. Ishanth managed to give the strike to Dhoni in the last over. Dhoni scored the winning runs for India and also he managed to reach his half century. The interesting fact in Dhoni’s half century is that there were no boundaries in it. Interesting isn’t it????
