I don’t know whether this is a good or bad news for the current third year B.E students in Tamilnadu. Anna University has told its affiliated engineering colleges to stop conducting placement programmes for third year students. Campus interviews will be conducted only from June 2008 for the students passing out in 2009. It seems that parents complained Anna University that students who were not placed in third year were neglected. Many leading colleges including many government and autonomous colleges are conducting placement programmes in third year itself. Some others are complaining that students are not studying in the final year after getting their offer letter (this is true indeed). Anyway if students are getting placed before they leave the college, it’s well and good.

No more placements in third year
Bill gates fires $44 billion
The world’s richest man, Bill gates is participating in the war with Google to conquer Yahoo! The founder of Microsoft announced $44 billion bid for Yahoo! It is said that this $44 billion announcement is to stop Google’s growth so that it won’t supercede Microsoft. Google sites became the most visited page last year with 587 million people logging in during December. Although Microsoft is in the top of software designing, it can’t leave its foot print in internet. But Google is in top by earning billion dollars through search and advertisements. This was realized by yahoo in 2004, but it was too late. If Google captures yahoo, it will go to the top in internet. Let’s see who wins this race.
Aussies crush the world champions
Forgetting the fact that he himself is a batsman, Mahendra singh Dhoni told the press that the Indian batsmen forgot their roles in the team after a worst defeat of the T20 champions in T20 match with Australia on 1st February. The world champions were all out just for 74 in 17.3 overs. Irfan pathan is the only batsman to take his score to double digit. The all-rounder took 26 of 30 balls. Aussies reached the easy target in just 11.2 overs with lose of one wicket. But I am happy that this is not the least total in T20 history. Yet this is the second lowest total. I don’t know whether this effect is due to Yuvraj’s absence. I was shocked to see eight fielders surrounding Ishanth Sharma when he was batting. Adam Voges is the first bowler to have eight fielders around a batsman in T20. After seeing the first innings I thought the pitch is a bowling pitch and so Aussies will also struggle to score runs. But the openers Adam Gilchrist and Michael Clark didn’t even miss single chance. I thought openers will finish the match. At least Indians managed to take Gilchrist’s wicket. This was gilchrist’s last international T20 match which he played for Australia. Michael Clarke was announced man of the match. Hope the same situation wont continue for the tri series.
